Planning a Trip to Greenland

Designing and booking a trip to Greenland requires careful planning as flight schedules and accommodations are limited. Generally it is best to book a flight and hotel package through GST and wait until arriving at your Greenland destination to determine the best and most suitable day excursions to book.

West, East and South Greenland

GST provides booking services for West, East and South Greenland. Air services originating in Iceland operate as follows:

• to Kulusuk in East Greenland (from Reykjavík City Airport) in East Greenland 6 days per week (not on Sundays) from May through September. During the rest of the year there are 2 to 3 flights per week.

• to Nuuk in West Greenland (from Reykjavík City Airport) 4 days per week in July through August and 3 days per week in May and September.

• to Ilulissat in West/North Greenland (from Reykjavík City Airport) 3 days per week in mid-June (22 June 2010) through August. In July and August, two flights will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

• to Narsarsuaq in South Greenland (from Reykjavík City Airport) 2 days per week from 15 June 2010 through 31 August 2010.

We feature air and hotel packages in the following towns in West/North Greenland: Nuuk, Ilulissat, Kangerlussuaq, and Sisimiut. In East Greenland we offer air, accommodations and meal packages in Kulusuk and Ammassalik. In South Greenland we offer air and accommodations booking services.

First, you should identify the region of Greenland for your trip destination. Please note that internal flights between domestic airports in Greenland are expensive, often in the range of $500 per leg per person.

1. Identify the dates for your travel plans based on vacation time, business needs and/or desired scheduled tour(s).

2. Identify your desired flight itinerary or ask GST to provide options. GST will provide business class, if available, and coach options for air travel at your request. Note: GST normally only books round trip flights, but you may use GST to schedule a one-way flight plan if you have confirmed cruise bookings and GST can book further travel beyond Greenland from via Icelandair.

3. Call, e-mail or use the GST inquiry page for air, hotel and other reservation requirements. Note that GST does not provide air-only booking services. Please provide name(s), mailing and billing addresses, telephone/fax and e-mail contact information and form of payment.
