General Description:

Located on the west coast of Greenland - 300 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle - the famous Ilulissat Icefjord is filled with icebergs generated from "Sermeq Kujalleq" which is the most productive iceberg-making glacier in the northern hemisphere. The town of Ilulissat is an exciting mix of Inuit culture, modern life and thousands of sled dogs pulsing under the magical light of the midnight sun. Visit the world famous Ilulissat glacier and the icebergs in Disko Bay on a four day getaway trip from Iceland. We offer you a full package to wonderful Ilulissat including 3 deluxe excursions, 3 nights at Hotel Arctic, one of Greenland's top hotels, with plenty of opportunities to sample the great taste of the modern Nordic cuisine prepared in their praised and award-winning kitchen.

Itinerary
Day 1
Noon departure time from Reykjavík City Airport to Ilulissat. Accommodations at the 4-star Hotel Arctic. Welcome meeting followed by a guided sightseeing hike to the abandoned Inuit settlement "Sermermiut" located by the mouth of the icefjord. Fantastic view over a sea of icebergs! Welcome dinner at the hotel.
Day 2
Full day boat trip to Oqaatsut. The settlement Oqaatsut (Rodebay) was for several centuries the resort of the Dutch whale hunters. Oqaatsut is beautiful situated approximately 15 km. north of Ilulissat, and even though it only has 45 inhabitants it has its own school, church, shop and a small restaurant, which is one of the older buildings from colonial times. The cruise includes dinner.
Day 3
This day is a free day for exploring Ilulissat on foot. Farewell dinner at the hotel. In the evening, a boat trip will take you to the icefjord with the gigantic icebergs in all colors and sizes. There's just nothing that compares to the experience of the golden walls of icebergs in the midnight sun.
Day 4
Return flight to Reykjavík, arriving shortly after 8:00 PM.
